In this modern digital era where it seems everything is run from mobile devices, there is one thing that digital media can’t beat. The feel and touch of holding a brochure or book in the hand.
Turning a physical page with the wonder of what you will find when you flick through, or the suspense of the story from page to page. We like to touch, we need to feel and that is why I think (even though some disagree), that print will never really die.
For me the smell of freshly printed brochures always brings back memories of my early years of working on the printing presses 😀
Yes digital Is a major part of our business life, its cheap to send out, amend or start afresh. What we have found though is that our design clients always have a better response back from customers when they send printed material out.
This is something I have also found working in my marketing manager role for a local business. We have a fantastic website, send out well designed e-newsletters and digital brochures, but our customers still want the physical brochure in their hands.
When our catalogues get delivered our sales enquiries and leads increase significantly, in fact the new ones land tomorrow and I am sure again we will have a noticeable boost in our sales figures for the month.
Of course it depends on what your business is, and certain marketing methods may work better than others, consider your customer base and how they interact with you, it may be digital is the perfect medium for you.
Digital media has improved working methods, sales and marketing immensely and I use it everyday, without it the business would not be the success it is.
But let’s not retire print just yet, for many businesses it is still the best method of getting your products and services in front of your customers.
